On Monday in New Braunfels, Texas Buc-ee’s Convenience Stores debuted its largest store with a grand opening celebration for customers.

The $7.4 million Buc-ee’s Travel Center at I-35 and Farm-to-Market Road 306 features 60 gas pumps, spans 18 acres and boasts a 67,000-square-foot  store.

The store offers the chain’s famously clean and hands-free restrooms; an array of road-trip munchies, which include New Braunfels Smokehouse-produced jerky as well as made-to-order sandwiches, tacos, barbecue, fudge and fountain drinks; racks fulls of Texas-themed gifts and clothing; and outdoor gear, the Seguin Gazette reported.

Work started on the big Buc-ee’s last summer, with a targeted opening date of Memorial Day 2012. Buc-ee’s expects 5,500 cars per day to stop at the new store. Some 250 employees staff the store 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and workers are paid as much as $12.25 per hour.
