DailysWawa will present new competition to the Jacksonville, Fla. market, but not all retailers are intimidated.

A new Wawa convenience store may soon open in Jacksonville, Fla., and the city’s other retailers are considering the impact this new competitor may have on business, but at least one local retailer is not concerned.

According to a report from the Jacksonville Business Journal, Daily’s convenience store believes that its recently launched made-to-order program will stand up to the new competition. Aubrey Edge, CEO of Daily’s convenience store explained Daily’s has a program through which customers can purchase premium, made-to-order products from his stores, using newly-added Dash made-to-order kiosks, which were created by Edge himself.

Edge began integrating these kiosks into his Daily’s stores, not in an attempt to keep pace with the competition, but rather to evolve with consumer needs. In order to be a step above the competition, along with the new Dash kiosks, Edge contacted the meat providers directly, in order to receive the highest quality cuts of meat, without preservatives and antibiotics.

Customers are able to order custom-made sandwiches, and ordering via a kiosk allows customers to shop in the store while waiting for their order. Daily’s offers professionally-designed food products, offers gluten-free products, which are made with separate equipment than regular products and breads that are from famous top bakeries.

Currently, 40% of Daily’s c-stores have the Dash kiosks, but Edge plans for all locations that have room for the kiosks will have them by the end of 2016.
