“We feel confident that the service and amenities being offered here, which are part of Petro’s strong ‘Voted Best’ legacy, will make drivers and motorists happy and keep them coming back,” says CEO.

TravelCenters of America LLC (TA), owner of Petro Stopping Centers, has announced the opening of the newest Petro full-service travel center at Exit 374 off I-35 at 101 Cornelius Road North, Carl’s Corner, Texas.

The location was previously known as “Willie’s Place” and becomes the 64th location in the Petro chain. The Carl’s Corner Petro offers the same ‘full service advantage’ to professional drivers and motorists as these customers have come to expect from Petro.

“We were thrilled to be able to reopen this site and recognize that it carries a strong legacy,” said Tom O’Brien, president and CEO of TA. “Our ‘full-service advantage’ means that we provide the variety of services that drivers need. For professional drivers, time is money, and we aim to make their stay with us as efficient as possible. We feel confident that the service and amenities being offered here, which are part of Petro’s strong ‘Voted Best’ legacy, will make drivers and motorists happy and keep them coming back.”

Before reopening, the site underwent a $1.5 million improvement plan, including: A completely renovated, 198-seat Iron Skillet restaurant (Voted Best by Overdrive magazine’s independent driver survey); the layout includes 30 outdoor patio seats; a new driver’s lounge with a 55-inch flat screen high definition television and 16 leather La-Z-Boy seats; seven completely remodeled showers; two sets of renovated ladies and mens restrooms; a refreshed, 2,600-ft. travel store; more than 100 truck parking spaces; and a new laundry room.

“I’m very impressed with the work that’s been done and the work ethic of all the employees,” said Carl Cornelius, Mayor of Carl’s Corner. “They are dedicated to doing a great job. I’m looking forward to many years of service.”

Additional amenities, including a Dunkin’ Donuts, are expected to be added inside the building soon.
