Save-A-Lot food stores, one of the nation’s hard discount grocery retailers is expanding its presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with the opening of a new store at 2627 W. Jefferson Blvd in the historic Oak Cliff community.
A series of Grand Opening events will run from March 4-9, with an official Dollar-Cutting ceremony beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The new store signifies Save-A-Lot’s continued commitment to providing affordable, quality groceries to Dallas residents as well as the company’s entry into the Hispanic grocery market. Save-A-Lot is dedicated to serving the food needs of its community residents and embracing their culture. Hispanic customers at the new Oak Cliff location will now find many of the most popular Latino brands and ingredients on their Save-A-Lot shelves to help them make traditional dishes their families love.
“The Dallas-Fort Worth area is one of Save-A-Lot’s most important markets. We began our commitment to the Dallas area 15 years ago and are now opening our 12th Dallas location. Save-A-Lot is committed to providing great food at great prices. We are devoted to our Dallas customers and are excited about our expansion into the Hispanic market. We have big plans for the future here,” said Andrea Wagner, Vice President of Fresh.
Save-A-Lot’s expansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has gained much support from city leaders. Honorable guests at their Grand Opening in Oak Cliff include Mayor Tom Leppert, Councilwoman Delia Jasso, foreign consulate representatives, local school leaders, local business leaders, and presidents of the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce.
“Save-A-Lot has been a member of the Dallas community for years and clearly saw a great business opportunity,” said Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert. “Families here wanted quality, affordable food and Save-A-Lot stepped in to fill the demand. We are thrilled about their local expansion into North Oak Cliff and look forward to working with them for years to come.”
To mark the grand opening, the Mayor as well as Councilwoman Jasso will race through the aisles of the new store with help from local children from Mi Escuelita Preschool, as part of their Dollar Cutting Ceremony. They’ll grab groceries to benefit the “Oak Cliff Churches for Emergency Aid” (OCCEA) Food Bank, which will be receiving a $5,000.00 donation from Save-A-Lot that will help them feed thousands of Oak Cliff families in need.
Several other community events will be held including the “Save-A-Lot Fights Childhood Obesity Event,” which will focus on educating children and parents on the dangers of childhood obesity and how to live a healthier lifestyle. Several reputable organizations from the health sector will participate in the interactive event.
