nocoLocal four-year-old boy’s story touches community.

NOCO customers and employees showed their support for Ben Sauer and his family raising a total of $8,441 during a recent Blue4Ben campaign. NOCO’s donation will benefit Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Pediatric Cancer Care Center.

Earlier this year, Ben Sauer, a four-year old from Clarence, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. His mom Mindy has been blogging about her family’s experience at blue4ben.com.

From March 19–April 2, customers at local NOCO Express Stores were encouraged to donate $1 to the cause, raising a total of $7,534.  Employees at NOCO’s corporate office also donated $907 by participating in two dress down/wear Blue4Ben days and purchasing Blue4Ben bracelets.

“Ben’s story has affected many of us throughout the local community and raised additional awareness for pediatric cancer,” said Michael Newman, executive vice president, NOCO. “Our customers and employees gave generously in honor of Ben and this donation will support Roswell Park in their ongoing efforts to care for children fighting cancer.”

Serving the Western New York community for more than 80 years, NOCO operates 35 NOCO Express convenience stores throughout the region.
