The new store, located near Buffalo Niagara International Airport, includes kiosk check-in for flights, expanded Charlie The Butcher offerings and green building technologies.

NOCO Express Stores has unveiled its newly rebuilt gasoline convenience store at 4590 Genesee Street, on the corner of Holtz Street across from the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. The store will open to the public on Dec. 13.

The former 1,600 square foot store was demolished in early September and is being replaced with a 5,000 square foot state of the art store featuring NOCO’s “store within a store” concept, new convenient amenities for customers such as a kiosk for check-in at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and various green building technologies to reduce energy consumption.

“NOCO Express continues to raise the bar in bringing high quality products and amenities to our customers at home, at work and on the go,” said Michael Newman, NOCO executive vice president. “The convenience store industry is continuously evolving and we are proud to offer a variety of new features to our customers in addition to constructing our most environmentally friendly store to date.”

NOCO also has hired an additional 14 employees to accommodate the customer needs of the new store, bringing the total workforce at the store to twenty-one employees.

The store was constructed with several building technologies to reduce energy consumption, including low watt LED lighting, a refrigeration energy management system and white roofing for increased light reflectivity.  A light harvesting system was installed utilizing skylights that allow natural light into the store and an energy management control system that automatically dims the store lighting during the daylight hours on an as needed basis. The store is also equipped with the infrastructure to accommodate electrical charging stations for electric cars in the future.

The new NOCO Express offers customers meal options for breakfast, lunch and dinner with an evolution of the traditional Charlie The Butcher Express concept – “Taste What Buffalo is all About,” which will serve Charlie’s signature fresh carved beef on weck, turkey and carve of the day along with the introduction of a hot breakfast menu and full pizza and chicken wing offerings. Charlie The Butcher will be open from 6 a.m. – 11 p.m. daily with delivery also available. In addition, customers can select from a variety of grab-and-go items, such as NOCO’s signature Nickel City Roast premium blend coffees, sandwiches, salads and fresh fruit.

Due to the proximity to the airport, the new store features a real time departure and arrival screen for guests to monitor flight times and also a kiosk where one can check in and print boarding passes. The store also offers expanded cooler and merchandising space along with a walk-in beverage cooler lending to an increased variety of on-the-go products.

NOCO is headquartered in Tonawanda, N.Y. and operates 32 NOCO Express convenience stores throughout the Western New York region.
