Sanford, N.C.-based c-store operator The Pantry Inc. said it expects its earnings per share for the fiscal year ending Sept. 25, 2008, to exceed its earnings of $1.17 per share from fiscal year 2007.

For this past year, the company’s merchandise and retail gasoline sales are expected to be approximately $1.64 billion and 2.1 billion gallons, respectively.

The Pantry, which operates more than 1,650 stores in 11 states, also said it appointed Brandon Frampton as vice president of foodservice.

Frampton has joined The Pantry from Pilot Travel Centers LLC, where he managed multiple concepts such as Subway, Dairy Queen, Wendy’s, Arby’s, Taco Bell and KFC. Most recently he was the national restaurant operations manager at Pilot, as well as serving as the Subway brand manager for Pilot’s 135 Subway sites.

In his new role, Frampton will oversee the company’s QSR operations, which consists of 239 company-operated restaurants – including 105 Subway locations.

Frampton will also oversee the expansion of The Pantry’s c-store foodservice offerings, focusing on new products and menu development for the grill program and other in-store foodservice initiatives.

Prior to his work at Pilot, Frampton worked as a training manager for Wendy’s and later served as a new store operations manager for Einstein’s Bros. Bagels.
