Parker's Fuel App and BarcodeParker’s is saving its customers time with its new, user-friendly Mobile Pay option.

Savannah, Ga.- based Parker’s recently launched its new Mobile Pay option to its Parker’s PumpPal members. With this innovative, robust Mobile Pay option, customers can now pay for transactions at the pump or in stores using their smart phones.

This GPS-enabled technology saves customers up to 14 seconds on every transaction, compared to the current chip and PIN technology in credit cards.

Designed to save customers time, the user-friendly Mobile Pay option is integrated into the free Parker’s app, which is available for download for iPhone and Android users. Using the new technology, PumpPal members can pull up to a Parker’s store, enter the gas pump number, type a personal PIN number, fuel up and go — without scanning a PumpPal card or using their wallet. The pump can even be turned on before getting out of the car.

“This is the new frontier in mobile technology,” said Greg Parker, president and CEO of Parker’s. “Our customers want to save time and money. At Parker’s, we’re helping them do both with our new Mobile Pay option. We complete more than 100,000 transactions every day, and this technology will help our customers pay faster than ever.”

Paying for in-store items at Parker’s has never been easier or faster. The GPS technology automatically identifies the store where a customer is located. PumpPal customers with the Parker’s app can simply scan their barcode at the cash register, enter a PIN number and hit “enter.” Thanks to PIN-protected encryption technology, each transaction is safe and secure.

“It’s so easy and so fast,” said Parker’s director of fuel management Jeff Bush, who spearheaded the company’s Mobile Pay development over the past eight months. “The app does a lot of the work for you. Our customers are really impressed.”

Parker's AppThe new Mobile Pay option also allows customers to filter fuel prices by grade and to receive exclusive coupons offering special savings at Parker’s. The app also has a unique messaging feature where customers can stay up-to-date with Parker’s news and updates. All customers who download the Parker’s app receive a digital coupon for a free 32-ounce fountain drink.

In order to develop this robust mobile payment system, Parker’s strategically united five different vendors, including app developer Zingon. Parker’s tested the system extensively before the launch to make sure the technology would work seamlessly.

Bush explains that the response from PumpPal customers has been extremely positive since the technology’s launch.

“Our customers love it,” he said. “Everyone is so excited.”

Parker’s has been ranked on Inc.’s elite list of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. for four consecutive years. Company President and CEO Greg Parker has been honored by the Savannah Chamber of Commerce as the Entrepreneur of the Year.

Parker’s currently operates 44 convenience stores across the region and employs 625 individuals throughout Georgia and South Carolina. The company, which completes more than 100,000 transactions daily, is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary.
