Parker’s presented a $1,500 Fueling the Community check to Liberty County Schools as part of a larger unrestricted charitable contribution to area schools in South Carolina and Georgia.

Parker’s president and CEO Greg Parker officially presented  the donation while visiting first grade students at Liberty Elementary School in Midway, Ga. on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013. Liberty County Elementary is currently the No. 1 Fueling the Community school in the county with registered PumpPal members.

“We’re deeply committed to giving back to every community where Parker’s does business,” said Greg Parker, president and CEO of Parker’s. “I’m a firm believer that education is the key to future success, so it’s truly my pleasure to support the hard-working teachers and administrators at Liberty County Schools through this donation.”

Parker’s donates one cent of every gallon of gas purchased at all of its convenience stores on the first Wednesday of the month to area schools through the Fueling the Community program. The company’s charitable initiative officially launched in the fall of 2011 and has donated money to public and private schools throughout South Carolina and Georgia.

Parker’s customers can sign up for a PumpPal card online at www.PumpPalClub.com to select a school of their choice for their one cent per gallon donation. Existing PumpPal members can access their account online and select a specific school to receive donations.

The company’s PumpPal club, which provides discounts of up to 10 cents on every gallon of gas purchased, has saved customers $3.4 million since the program first launched in February of 2011.Today, the PumpPal program has more than 78,000 members throughout Georgia and South Carolina.

Parker’s currently operates 33 convenience stores in Georgia and South Carolina with plans to open additional locations throughout the region during 2014.

The company has three locations in Liberty County and employs more than 400 individuals throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
