Pemmican Beef Jerky partners with Operation Gratitude to repeat its successful promotion, resulting in a donation of more than $20,000 in beef jerky to deployed U.S. Troops

Marfood USA has announced that for the second consecutive year, through its Pemmican Brand Operation Gratitude promotion, the company was able to make a sizable donation of Pemmican Beef Jerky to deployed U.S. troops.

For every bag of Pemmican 3.25-ounce Beef Jerky shoppers bought between Memorial Day and Independence Day 2012, Pemmican matched the purchase with a donation of more than $20,000 worth of Pemmican Flex-pack Beef Jerky to Operation Gratitude to include in care packages to deployed military personnel that are sent out in the 4th quarter of each year.

“Beef jerky donations are terrific!” said Carolyn Blashek, president of Operation Gratitude. “Jerky is very popular with our troops, as it is tasty, nutritious and easy to take on missions.   We are very grateful for this generous support and look forward to continuing to work with Pemmican in the future.”

“Pemmican is excited that we were able to once again show our gratitude for our U.S. Troops,” said Nakia Watkins, marketing manager of Taylor, Mich.-based Marfood USA. “We are grateful to have partner organizations such as Operation Gratitude to help Pemmican and its shoppers give back to the men and women who risk their lives for our freedom every day.”

Operation Gratitude is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-based organization that sends personal care packages and letters to U.S. Military Troops deployed in harm’s way.  Its mission is to put a smile on a service member’s face and express the appreciation and support of the American people.
