Distributor aims to help independent sites compete in changing marketplace.
Petromark Inc. has signed on as a partner in VP Racing Fuels Inc.’s national branding program.
Supporting more than 218 retail and wholesale sites in its operating area, Petromark creates an opportunity for expansion of VP’s brand in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Tennessee.
“Our consideration of the VP brand focused on VP’s image, very favorable credit card processing program and incremental revenue from other VP-branded products,” said Steve Turner, co-owner of Petromark. “We’re excited about the opportunity to pioneer the new VP Racing Fuels brand to the market and providing our independent sites resources to compete in the changing marketplace. Our success will be a result of the commitment of both companies.”

Based in Harrison, Arkansas, and founded as Lair Oil in 1929, the company’s name was changed to Petromark Inc. in 1988. The business, operated by co-owners Stephen Lair and Steve Turner, today consists of 28 retail sites in Northwest/North Central Arkansas and the Branson, Missouri area, in addition to more than 190 wholesale sites. Shell, Conoco, Phillips and Valero are the major flags and one third of Petromark’s volume is unbranded.
