Four additional trucking companies are continuing a civil lawsuit.
Pilot Flying J is settling lawsuits with three trucking companies who allege the company cheated them out of fuel rebates, ABC News Cleveland reported
Attorneys for National Retail Transportation, Keystone Freight and Shoreline Transportation of Alabama notified U.S. District Court Judge Amul Thapar of the settlement agreement in documents filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Details of the settlement were not disclosed. If the settlement is not finalized by April 10, the Judge ordered that any party “may move to restore the case to the Court’s calendar.”
Four additional trucking companies are continuing a civil lawsuit in federal court regarding the alleged rebate fraud.
The federal criminal investigation is ongoing, and has so far resulted in at least 10 former Pilot Flying J employees pleading guilty and agreeing to cooperate with investigators, ABC News Cleveland reported.
Pilot Flying J agreed to pay a $92 million civil fine last summer that protected the company from criminal prosecution, but does not protect individuals from possible future indictments. No charges have been filed against CEO Jimmy Haslam.
