Tesco’s Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is receiving plenty of attention from potential workers for its Nov. 8 opening. The company has reported receiving nearly 1,000 applicants for 170 jobs for the first six Southern California, according to Los

Angeles Business.

Fresh & Easy has been eyed up by seasoned management as well. According to the article, top managers at food retail chains across the west coast may have been showing interest, pointing out that Supermarket News reported Thursday a warning from analyst Mike Griswold of AMR Research: Food retailers should take good care of their store managers to keep them from being lured away to Tesco.

Fresh & Easy entry-level workers will start at $10 an hour in California. More than 40% of store employees are full-time and eligible for medical, prescription drugs, dental and vision coverage, with Fresh & Easy paying at least 75% of the cost. The company also offers a 401(k) retirement plan, with a company match.
