A portion of sandwich and wrap revenue from the new QuikChek’s first 30 days of operation benefited youth sports in Fairfield, N.J.

In honor of its newest New Jersey c-store location, QuickChek donated $4,127.50 to the Fairfield, N.J. Department of Recreation to benefit the township’s youth sports teams.

It is the largest ever store-opening donation for the company, which celebrates the opening of every one of its new fresh convenience markets by donating a portion of its sales of every sub, sandwich and wrap sold during the store’s first 30 days of operation.

QuickChek District Leader Ted Sadowski and Food Service Leader Meliza Miranda made the presentation to Fairfield Recreation Director Tony Pompei on April 19 in the new store located at 384 Passaic Avenue.

“We look forward to being a great neighbor, offering those who live and work in the area the quality, convenience and friendly service we’re known for,” said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling, whose family-owned company has been named one of the most generous in the state by New Jersey Monthly magazine.

The new 4,543-square-foot store is open 24 hours a day and features an in-store Q Café, which offers more than 60 varieties of personalized handcrafted drinks including macchiato, fresh brewed cappuccinos, lattes and espressos, blended-to-order real fruit smoothies, fruit teas, lemonade and decadent frozen treats including new frozen lattes.

Additional amenities include no-fee ATMs, which provide additional added value to consumers; indoor seating for 13 people and outdoor seating for eight; eight gasoline pumps offering high-quality fuel at value prices; and 55 parking spaces.

QuickChek stores provide one-stop shopping, offering a wide variety of grocery and market items including custom-made oven toasted subs, sandwiches, wraps and salads, fresh baked goods from an in-store bakery and excellent customer service provided by locally hired team members. Modern by industry standards, the company maintains bright clean stores, well-lighted fuel stations and parking lots with wide, easy-to-use entrances and exits that add to a shopper’s convenience.

The Fairfield store employs 50 people, most of who live locally. Each new store typically generates approximately $1 million in tax revenue, adding to the positive impact on the local economy.

The Whitehouse Station, N.J.-based fresh convenience market chain has 142 store locations throughout New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island. The company has raised millions of dollars for a variety of local causes benefiting children, families and military veterans and supports 150 youth sports groups throughout the metropolitan area.
