The 8-Bit Pitmaster game simulates the length of time that pitmasters spend smoking QTs barbecue meat, new to the menu this fall.

Tulsa, Okla.-based QuikTrip (QT) released a new mobile game, the 8-Bit Pitmaster, which simulates the role of a barbecue pitmaster.

The game invites customers to smoke barbecue for eight hours like a pro, and in doing so, offers QT coupons the longer participants play.

8-Bit Pitmaster challenges customers to prove they have the tenacity, hunger and time to make quality, premium barbecue like QT by putting their “finger to the fire,” holding a finger on the mobile screen for eight straight hours.

The 8-Bit Pitmaster game simulates the length of time that pitmasters spend smoking QT’s premium, fresh barbecue meat, new to the menu this fall.

“Making quality, premium meat is difficult and time consuming, and this new mobile game proves that it takes a lot of persistence and hunger to smoke 8-bit meats,” said Joseph Truesdell, social engagement manager at QT. “We wanted to show our customers we are not taking any shortcuts when it comes to our barbecue and this was an engaging way to let them in on the action.”

QT’s smoked barbecue meats are used in two of the company’s newest menu categories of snackles: BBQ Sandwiches and a full line up of tacos.

QT’s BBQ Sandwiches come in a variety of options, including beef brisket that has been hardwood smoked for over 12 hours, pulled pork that has been hardwood smoked for over 10 hours and chicken that has been hardwood smoked for over six hours.

Each BBQ Sandwich is piled high on a soft bun and slathered with QT’s sweet, tangy barbecue sauce.

QT’s full lineup of tacos are available in a variety of customizable options, including Brisket, Pork, Chicken and Brisket, Egg & Cheese, to name a few. The tacos are all stuffed in a fluffy flour tortilla and have the option to be garnished with a variety of toppings, such as tomatoes, jalapenos, salsa and onions.

QT’s new, freshly-made premium barbecue sandwiches and full lineup of tacos are available in stores in Tulsa, Okla., Wichita, Kan., San Antonio, Texas, and Austin, Texas. The BBQ Sandwiches and tacos are freshly made with quality ingredient, and are available in grab-and-go and customized ordering through the QT mobile app and QT Kitchens kiosks.
