Cobb County School District teachers could receive a $20 gift card as a thank you for fueling the minds of children.

Cobb County, Atlanta-based RaceTrac celebrated National Teacher Day on May 7 by offering free gasoline to thousands of educators in the Cobb County School District.

Teachers could stop by one of two RaceTrac locations from 4-6 p.m. on May 7 and present a Cobb County School ID to get a free $20 gift card for gasoline “as a thank you for fueling the minds of children,” the company said.

Convenience Store Decisions named RaceTrac, which operates more than 500 c-stores in Georgia, Florida, Louisiana and Texas, the 2014 Chain of the Year.

The company recently held a groundbreaking ceremony marking the chain’s expansion into Tennessee.

Overall, RaceTrac is planning to open up to 50 stores by 2023 throughout Middle Tennessee, including locations in Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Hendersonville, Gallatin, Smyrna and Spring Hill.
