Purple Pump Up Campaign benefits Alzheimer’s Association.

Rapid Refill Convenience Stores, part of Volta Oil, teamed up with the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter for the eighth year, raising $152,464 at 15 store locations for its annual Purple Pump Up for Alzheimer’s campaign.

Purple Pump Up for Alzheimer’s was led by Jim Garrett, chairman of Volta Oil and a past board member for the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. The six-week campaign includes asking customers for donations at the point of sale, vendor support and donating five cents of every gallon of gas sold on June 21 in recognition of The Longest Day fundraising event. Combined with a generous match from Volta Oil, the campaign had a record-breaking year.

“Our associates do an amazing job not only raising funds during the Purple Pump Up campaign, but also getting the message out about a world without Alzheimer’s,” Garrett said after the campaign ended. “I am truly thankful for all of the effort our personnel have put into the Purple Pump Up event.”

In the eight years since this campaign began, Rapid Refill locations have now raised over $615,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.

“Rapid Refill is an extraordinary partner for the Alzheimer’s cause,” said James Wessler, president/CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, MA/NH Chapter. “Rapid Refill has a strong sense of community involvement and they recognized that this disease has a tremendous impact. This kind of leadership is so necessary if we are going to turn the tide on Alzheimer’s.”

Special thanks to all sponsors who helped make 2018’s campaign the most successful yet, including Platinum sponsor New England Ice Cream and Gold sponsors, Global, J. Polep, Pabian & Russell, Tufts Health Plan and Webster Bank.
