Des-Moines, Iowa-based Seneca Companies has recently been notified of their fifth consecutive Safety Award from the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council (IISC) for outstanding achievement in accident prevention in 2010. This award will be presented at the April 29th Awards Ceremony during the 58th Annual Professional Development Conference at Expo in Bettendorf, Iowa.

The company boasts multiple divisions to handle petroleum construction, remodels, and service as well as environmental clean-up, remediation, and the use of potentially dangerous machinery for industrial cleaning, hydro-blasting, and emergency spill response. Each of these divisions undergoes rigorous training to satisfy the client’s need for timely response and professionalism while reducing risk and maintaining safety standards on their site.

“We have achieved great results in this area over the last several years including the creation of a safety committee consisting of staff from each of our divisions. This allows us to share best-practices and innovative ideas for safety and prevention,” said company Human Resources Director Matt Puffer. “Now, more than ever, we are pushing to make this top-of-mind for all employees – whether they are working at customer facilities, in the field or at one of our nine office locations. We’re proud to be recognized for these efforts year after year and it’s evident that our clients appreciate these safety programs, as well”.

IISC is a Chapter of the National Safety Council, whose mission is to educate society to adopt safety, health and environmental practices and to provide high-quality, value added training and services.
