Company launches job fair to help staff new kitchen.

Sheetz Inc. will host a job fair offering hundreds of exciting employment opportunities at the new Sheetz Bros. Kitchen. The fair will be held at the Sheetz Distribution Center in Claysburg, Pa. on Nov. 2 and 3 from 10:00am to 6:00pm each day. The fair will be an information session for people interested in jobs at the Sheetz Bros. Kitchen, currently under construction.

When completed, Sheetz Bros. Kitchen, will be 140,000 square feet of centralized kitchen space where dozens of food products will be made fresh and shipped daily to all 340 Sheetz locations. Sheetz Bros. Kitchen is expected to be operational in Fall 2008.

“We’re really excited about this project and want people to come learn what Sheetz Bros. Kitchen is all about,” said Stan Sheetz, president and CEO, Sheetz Inc. “It’s an informational session where people can learn about the kitchen and what kinds of job opportunities are available.”

The majority of positions to be filled include, bakery production, ready-to-eat production and delivery drivers. Other jobs that will be available include driver supervisors, quality assurance, maintenance, dispatchers, cafeteria staff and computer technicians.

“This project is not only going to be good for Sheetz, but good for the Altoona Blair County Community because it’s making new job opportunities for people in this region,” added Sheetz. “I’ve said this before, we started this business in Altoona and have always been proud of that fact. We’re happy to continue growing and expanding in our hometown community.”

Because Sheetz Bros. Kitchen will operate seven days a week, a wide variety of positions and schedules will be available. More than 350 jobs will be filled. Applications for all positions will be available at the job fair.
