Sheetz Inc. has opened a new unit in Davidson County in North Carolina just outside Winston-Salem, the company said.

The opening is the 17th for Sheetz in North Carolina and brings the company’s overall store count to 348.

Sheetz employees will hold a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 8 at the store. As part of the festivities, the company will make a donation to the Friedberg Elementary School in Davidson County, which will be used to support educational and athletic programs.

"We are thrilled to be a part of Davidson County and Arcadia Township and be a part of the events that are important to them," said Louie Sheetz, executive vice president of marketing at Sheetz. "Sheetz has a long tradition of being involved in youth-centered activities, so today we are happy to make a commitment to support the children of this community."

As part of its Made-To-Order (MTO) foodservice program, the new store features subs, sandwiches and salads, as well as French fries, onion rings, chicken fingers, burgers and more. The store also features Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, a full-service espresso and smoothie bar staffed by a trained barista. Customers can order hand-made specialty coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and mochas in their hot, frozen or iced forms.

The new store offers the full complement of Sheetz food and drink products, as well as touchscreen kiosks where customers can place their own food and specialty coffee orders.
