The Iowa attorney general said Shell gas stations are planning to take action to prevent tobacco sales to children at 78 locations in that state, the Associated Press reported.

Shell reached an agreement with Iowa and 45 other states to institute policies at more than 13,000 outlets across the nation. It’s the 12th such agreement negotiated between the states and tobacco retailers operating gas stations, c-stores and other outlets, according to the AP.

Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller said Shell’s new programs will include training on tobacco laws, checks to ensure compliance and the use of cash registers that remind clerks to check a tobacco purchaser’s photo ID.
