BP works to fix specification issue with gasoline in Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.

BP announced Friday, Aug. 24, that regular gasoline it supplies to retailers in Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin is within normal specifications and is available for purchase by consumers.

Regular gasoline makes up more than 80% of BP’s sales volume in the region.

Premium and midgrade gasoline is back within normal specifications through much of the region. However, pending further quality testing and resupply, BP has decided to temporarily suspend sales of premium and midgrade at some retail sites in Indianapolis and Chicagoland.

BP has established a dedicated claims facility to speed processing of consumer calls and claims.  BP has begun paying claims and is following up on the 16,000 calls regarding questions or claims that the company has received to date.

Any consumer who purchased off-specification fuel wishing to file a claim should call 1-800-599-9040 or 1-800-333-3991 to promptly speak with a claims representative.  Consumers should save sales receipts, credit/debit card records and repair bills. They can also access information and submit an online inquiry atwww.bpresponse.com.

BP sells more than 50 million gallons of gasoline in the U.S. every day and we guarantee every gallon we sell. “We are committed to working with every affected BP consumer to remedy this situation,” the company said.
