Speedway SuperAmerica LLC reached a deal with RBS Lynk, the U.S. payment processing arm of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, to provide credit card processing to its 1,600 gasoline and convenience stores.

Under terms of the agreement, RBS Lynk will initially provide in-store and pay-at-the-pump credit card processing system wide for Speedway, to be followed by implementation of debit card processing. Headquartered in Enon, Ohio, Speedway, a subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corp. is one of the largest chains of company-owned and -operated gasoline and convenience stores in the U.S., operating in nine Midwestern states.

"Credit card processing plays an increasing role in the value and convenience we can offer our customers," said Brad Mayer, Speedway vice president of finance and information technology services. "RBS Lynk’s services will help Speedway continue to efficiently and cost-effectively meet the fueling and convenience needs of the more than 2.4 million customers who shop our stores on a daily basis."
