Swiss Farms, the drive-through grocery store chain headquartered in Broomall, Pa., is adding a fully secure payment processing solution through Columbus IT and Mercury Payments Systems.

The enhanced system is designed to meet Swiss Farms’ specific payment processing needs as it launched a national franchising expansion program. The chain needed to accept EBT cards and offer a robust gift card program that could support cross-store and multi-channel (in store, mobile app, online, etc.) sales. A strong implementation and support structure was important to seamlessly scale with a growing base of corporate and franchise stores.

Swiss Farms chose Columbus IT, a leading Microsoft Dynamics software company and Mercury Payments Systems based upon its reputation within the Microsoft retail community integrating to Microsoft AX for Retail. Swiss Farms is one of only four businesses participating in Microsoft’s “Technology Adoption Program ”  or “TAP” of AX for Retail, formerly LS Retail for AX. TAP offers early previews and adoption of new software and gives participants a unique opportunity to influence development.

“Mercury’s integration and conversion process seamlessly converted Swiss Farms existing gift card program without loss of information to enable customer continuity,” said Rocco Fiorentino, president of Swiss Farms Franchise Co. “This is a huge step in technology for our current and new locations. We are presently under construction with our new award-winning store design in New Jersey and the company plans to add up to 100 franchise locations over the next five years,” Fiorentino said.

Columbus IT completed the AX for Retail integration to Mercury for credit card, debit, gift and EBT card processing. The roll out of the integrated solutions is underway thru July to an initial location and the remaining stores will follow shortly.

“Mercury made integrating secure payment processing easy,” said Chris Gray, director of IT for Swiss Farms.  “Mercury’s developer support teams provided responsive assistance for every stage of integration and security compliance.”

“Mercury’s partnership with Columbus IT provides the integrated payment services and gift card program Swiss Farms needs to grow their innovative drive-through grocery chain,” said Steve Hicks, a Mercury Payment Systems channel sales executive.
