The concept is being tested at select Target locations.

Self-service snack bars, featuring grab-and-go snacks and drinks, are now available in select Target stores.

The snack bars include options such as Icees, Pizza Hut menu items and other grab-and-go snacks like beef jerky and popcorn according to Business Journal. Customers can make their selection and pay at a self-service kiosk.

“We are pleased with the guest response so far and are continuing to evaluate the concept,” a Target spokesperson reportedly told Business Journal.

The new concept is a lower-cost strategy to run a low-volume snack section, and is seen as an added benefit for Target’s core customers, Business Journal reports.

Other retailers have similar concepts, such as 7-Eleven’s Scan & Pay and Amazon Go convenience stores, which enable customers to purchase products through their phone or self-checkout stations.
