Position includes overseeing the collaboration of all operations and facilitates.

Tedeschi Food has promoted Greg Donoghue to chief operating officer. Donoghue succeeds Robert Tedeschi Jr., who retired late last month after nearly 39 years of notable service.

In his role, Donoghue will oversee all operations and facilitates collaboration and project management oversight for all departmental interaction with stores.

Donoghue first began working at Tedeschi Food Shops in 2007 where he served as the general counsel, focusing on real estate transactions, merger and acquisitions and employment matters. Since then, he has served as a leader in many roles that have helped transform the company, including vice president of human resources and most recently as the chief operating officer. As vice president of human resources, Donoghue administered all hiring, oversaw a training group of four employees and recorded management and payroll administration for 2,000 weekly payees. In preparing for his role as chief operating officer, Donoghue spent six weeks working in a store, learning the ins and outs of the business at store level while rotating through all corporate departments.

Tedeschi Foods Shops is confident that Donoghue’s knowledge of the business has prepared him for his new role.

Established in 1923 in Rockland, Mass., Tedeschi Food Shops operates 191 convenience store locations in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
