Oklahoma City-based Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores has broken ground on its newest travel stop location in Barstow, Calif., just off Interstate 15.

The store is expected to open in late spring next year. It will employ between 30 and 50 people and will contribute more than $100,000 in annual tax revenues to the area.

“We’re excited to continue our growth in California and across the country, and we’re proud that we contribute financially to the local economies in locations where we operate,” said Greg Love, president of Love’s Development Companies. “This location fits well with our commitment to offer a variety of amenities for professional drivers and the motoring public.”

The new site will feature 90 truck parking spaces, showers, CAT scales and other amenities.

Love’s has more than 200 locations in more than 30 states, and is currently growing by about 15 stores per year. It’s ranked No. 25 on Forbes’ Magazine’s annual list of America’s largest privately held companies.
