TravelCenters of America LLC (TravelCenters), operator of the TA and Petro Stopping Centers travel center brands, has announced the acquisition and rebranding of the newest TA travel center, located at I-40, Exit 170 (1670 U.S. Hwy 601 North) in Mocksville, NC.

The opening of this location raises the number of travel centers in the TA and Petro Stopping Centers branded chain to 247.

Amenities at the new always-open TA currently include:

     145 truck parking spaces on a spacious, well-lit parking lot;

    eight diesel lanes;

    Fully stocked Travel Store;

    seven showers;

    Full-service, sit-down restaurant;

    TA Truck Service facility with three service bays;

    RoadSquad emergency roadside service, available 24/7/365; and

    UltraONE Rewards Program kiosk and swiping system.

This location also offers a variety of other full-service professional driver amenities, including Wi-Fi, weigh scale, and ATM, check cashing and TripPak services. Gasoline is offered at four fueling lanes.

“We are thrilled to have acquired this location and open it as another TA full-service travel center,” said Tom O’Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters. “While this location is currently offers most of our full-service amenities, we do plan to invest in the restaurant and truck service facility to completely rebrand it as a TA location, as well as add a Popeyes quick-service restaurant next fall,” he continued.

TA and Petro conducted the annual independent survey of Overdrive magazine readers in late 2012. The results showed that drivers prefer TA and Petro over the next closest truck stop brand 4:1 for the best overall truckstop category. TA and Petro dominated the survey in 33 other categories, including largest parking lots 5:1; best overall food 6:1; most comprehensive driver services 3:1; cleanest showers and restrooms 3:1; best fitness facilities 6:1; best overall truck repair 4:1; and most competent technicians 7:1. These ratios depict driver preference for TA and Petro versus the next closest truck stop brand.
