In an innovative approach to supporting the fight against hunger in central Pennsylvania, this year’s Fall/Winter Food Drive at Turkey Hill Minit Markets now enables customers to earn fuel savings by purchasing non-perishable items to donate in the stores.

The Food Drive, which is operating through Dec. 20 at Turkey Hill stores in Lancaster, Lebanon, York, Dauphin, and Cumberland Counties, works with the Turkey Hill Rewards Card. When purchasing designated points eligible, non-perishable items to place in special donation boxes at the stores, customers can have an associate scan their Turkey Hill Rewards Cards and earn points toward savings at Turkey Hill’s fuel pumps.

Donation boxes at each store will be picked up periodically for delivery to the local Rescue Mission in the area served by the store. Customers can watch for announcements at the stores of special Rewards Bonus Points offered on non-perishable items to donate. In November, all Campbell’s Soups have been designated as Bonus Points items.

“We’re pleased to offer our customers such a win-win deal with this year’s Food Drive,” said Kim Hertzog, public relations manager, Turkey Hill Minit Markets. “You can do a good deed to help stop hunger, and get rewarded with fuel savings at Turkey Hill.”
