The company declared June 10 National Egg Roll Day in honor of its founding in June of 1986.

Van’s Kitchen has established June 10 as the first-ever National Egg Roll Day in honor of the company’s founding in June of 1986 and will donate 90,000 egg rolls (equivalent to 45,000 servings) to a local branch of the Midwest Food Bank.

Van’s Kitchen, the flagship brand of VAN Oriental Food, is a certified Women Owned and minority-owned egg roll company that supplies to thousands of stores nationwide. Van’s Kitchen is a small business whose team is dedicated to creating authentic, delicious products with uncompromising quality.

Throughout the years, Van’s Kitchen has partnered with various food banks to give back and feed the community. Rooted in passion and purpose, Van’s Kitchen has always been committed to their community from providing the best value to their customers to offering excellent benefits for their employees.

“We are thrilled to establish this National Day in honor of our founders, my parents, Van and Kim Nguyen,” said Theresa Motter, CEO of Van’s Kitchen. “My parents’ passion for sharing authentic egg rolls has transformed into a legacy that truly captures the American Dream. We hope that people across the country will celebrate this day with delicious egg rolls.”

Van Nguyen came to the U.S. from Vietnam in the mid 1960s when the U.S. State Department brought him to Washington D.C. as a teacher. Two years later, he was joined by his wife Kim and daughter Theresa. Van and Kim’s work ethic, as well as determination and love for egg rolls, led them through the many challenges of adjusting to a new culture while starting a business.

“Van’s Kitchen’s success is attributed greatly to the strong foundation built by two young Vietnamese immigrants with a goal,” said Carl Motter, CSO of Van’s Kitchen. “National Egg Roll Day is a great way to celebrate our heritage and dedication to creating a product we love.”
