Two companies help c-stores reach c-store customers through all mobile devices.

Verge Connect, a mobile application solution for smartphones, and the Digital Deal, a text marketing program accessible by conventional mobile phones, teamed up to allow c-store operators to cost-effectively connect with customers who use smartphone or conventional mobile phones.

Their partnership represents the first convenience store tailored marketing solution that allows store operators a choice of branded mobile app, a text marketing program or both, depending on company objectives. Both solution were developed by companies with deep knowledge about the needs of c-store retailers.

Verge Connect, a North Carolina-based c-store distributor, provides retailers with the ability to offer a branded, customized mobile application for their iPhone and Android customers to download free. The app includes a store locator, promotions, redemption tracking and customer push promotions.

The Digital Deal, created by Ohio-based c-store consulting firm Convevo Partners, is the first text marketing program designed specifically for c-store operators. The program is built around a text marketing engine that is fully managed by the Digital Deal, and includes an exciting promotional sign package that is customized for each store operator as well as a marketing program to build sales growth.

“While consumers that utilize smartphone apps represent some of the most loyal and tech-savvy customers, we were only able to connect with about half of the mobile phone users in the United States,” said Carson Kuehne, director of sales at Verge. “By partnering with Digital Deal, we now can help our clients to connect with the other half of the population that continue(s) to use conventional mobile phones.”
