Write a letter to your members of Congress today and urge them to VOTE NO on S. 575 and H.R. 1081 or any other legislation to delay or amend debit card swipe fee reform: nacsonline.com/swipefeesletter

If there was ever a crucial time for retailers to make a call to their representatives to state their case for swipe fee reform, that time is now.

On Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) announced he intends to call up a vote on the amendment by Senators Jon Tester (D-MT) and Bob Corker (R-TN) that seeks to delay the implementation of the Durbin amendment that would limit swipe fees for debit card purchases, effectively killing the reform retailers have worked so hard to achieve. The vote could come any time after June 6, once the Senate returns from recess.

The National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) noted it is of utmost importance for retailers to meet with their senators during the upcoming Memorial Day recess and urge a NO VOTE on any legislation offered to delay implementation of debit card swipe fee reform.
