The VPS Convenience Store Group and the Cape Fear Council of Boy Scouts are holding their 28th Annual S
ummer Swing Golf Tourney and Auction to benefit the Boy Scouts of America June 7-8, 2011 in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.
The dinner and auction are being held at the Holiday Inn Resort at Wrightsville Beach on Tuesday evening, and the golf tournament is scheduled at Magnolia Greens Golf Plantation in Leland Wednesday morning. The chairman of the tournament this year is Rich Mione, senior director of merchandising for VPS.
The annual tournament has become the largest fundraising event in the history of the Cape Fear Council Boy Scout program. Last year’s event brought in proceeds that totaled over $100,000 to benefit the Boy Scouts of America. In 27 years VPS has raised more than $1,000,000.00 for the Boy Scouts.
