Three-week campaign to benefit nine children’s hospitals.

Now through May 27, Wawa stores are asking customers to donate either $1, $3 or $5 to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a charity that raises fundsfor 170 children’s hospitals.

All of the funds raised will go to support the nine Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals located in the chain’s market area.

Wawa has been a long-time partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Over the past 20 years Wawa associates and customers have helped to raise millions of dollars. The funds will help some of the most renowned children’s hospitals do what they do best, provide world-class care to every child. In 2011, Wawa raised more than $415,000 for the hospital network.

Wawa’s involvement with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a wonderful example of associates and customers working together to make children’s lives a little brighter.

“Over the years, we at Wawa have built a longstanding relationship with many children’s health organizations, including Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” said Howard Stoeckel, Wawa’s CEO. “Children’s health is a cause very near and dear to our associates and customers’ hearts and we’re committed to doing everything we can for those in need, starting with the children and hospitals in the communities we serve.”

Like all Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaigns, the funds raised from Wawa stores three-week drive will help create miracles by funding medical care, research and education to save and improve the lives of 17 million children treated at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year.

Wawa operates more than 590 stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.
