Wawa sponsored two Philadelphia events this 4th of July holiday to show off its smoothie products to thirsty customers.

Philadelphia residents had the opportunity to cool down with Wawa smoothies at both Taste of Philadelphia and Independence Day Blast.

Through the events, both of which were free to the public and hosted at Penn’s Landing, Wawa distributed about 10,000 samples of its new Frozen Lemonade, Raspberry and Strawberry smoothie flavors.

The frozen lemonade and strawberry smoothies are made with real fruit puree and the new raspberry flavor provides Wawa-lovers with a smoothie that is light on calories, but still big on taste.

At the Taste of Philadelphia, Wawa offered customers frozen smoothie samples in the new Wawa Smoothie Shack on Saturday, June 25 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guests were invited to stop and sample the new Frozen Lemonade and Raspberry smoothies, as well. During the event, Wawa hosted a ‘smooth moves’ dance contest to see which visitor had the smoothest dance moves.

The entire event offered Philadelphia food-lovers the chance to try dishes from many of Philadelphia’s top restaurants, while listening to acclaimed jazz musician Gerald Veasley.

The Independence Day Blast on Saturday, July 2 also offered customers the chance to sample Wawa’s signature smoothie flavors.

“In our second year as title sponsors of Wawa Welcome America!, we’re looking forward to infusing new events and products to the festival that add excitement and appetite appeal,” said Howard Stoeckel, president and CEO of Wawa, operates more than 570 stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. “We are proud of our rich history and traditions in the city of Philadelphia and look forward to celebrate our nation’s biggest birthday bash.”
