Wawa, which operates more than 560 stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, soon will be adding New York to its list of locations.

The convenience store chain is entering the Syracuse and central New York region in just one week, WSYR-TV Syracuse reported.

Following the closing of an area Wilson Farms store in December, Wawa is branching into the area and is set to open its first store in the region on Sept. 1. The site is already near completion.

The Syracuse, N.Y. store will be an independently owned Wawa location, and the owner told WSYR-TV that he plans competitive pricing on products, and also hopes to open three or four more Wawa stores around Syracuse in the near future.
