The event in Tarrytown, N.Y., will feature leadership sessions, operational insights, networking opportunities and exclusive store tours hosted by Chestnut Market.

As the CStore Momentum conference approaches, young professionals from all corners of the c-store industry are gearing up for an event full of education, connection and critical operational insights.

Taking place at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, N.Y., from Aug. 19-21, this year’s conference will be hosted by Chestnut Market and will feature educational sessions from many of the chain’s top executives.

“CStore Momentum is a chance for young executives to develop relationships with peers in the industry facing similar challenges and opportunities while learning about the c-store industry and developing leadership skills,” explained Erin Del Conte, editor-in-chief, CStore Decisions.

On the first full day of the event, Aug. 20, Chestnut’s Director of Retail Operations Faheem Jamal will take the stage to welcome attendees, explore the history of Chestnut and how it has grown to where it is today, as well as introduce several highlights attendees will experience during the following sessions.

Then, Chestnut’s General Manager, Rick Theilig, will join Jamal in a talk titled, “Behind the Curtain with Chestnut Market,” where the pair will outline the company’s direction moving forward and its operational initiatives, including the Retail is Detail program.

Attendees will get a chance to hear from several Chestnut leaders throughout the week, including Abigail Cerra, director of marketing, loyalty and communications; Farris Jamal, director of merchandising and Carmelia Bengochea-Glore, director of HR.

Plus, some of the industry’s leading retailers will take the stage to share their unique insights, including representatives from Global Partners, Warrenton Oil, Dandy Mini Marts, Crosby’s and Wawa.

Wawa’s Director of Store Operations Jason Read will deliver the event’s keynote on Aug. 20, where he will share tips from his 30 years in retail and leading teams. Topics will focus on increasing confidence, taking risks, public speaking, your “leadership wake,” and pitfalls unique to women in leadership.

The show will continue on Aug. 21 with exclusive guided store tours, including Chestnut Market’s The Hutch location, where attendees will receive a complimentary lunch.
