Buc-ee’s has announced that it will open its newest travel center in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on Nov. 16. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 12 p.m. CST.
Located at 3355 Elam Rd., the new Buc-ee’s will span 74,000 square feet and feature 120 fueling positions. Customers will find Buc-ee’s favorites including Texas BBQ, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries.
Murfreesboro Mayor McFarland and Rutherford County Mayor Allen, as well as members of the Murfreesboro City Council and Rutherford County Commission will attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
With the opening of its Murfreesboro location, Buc-ee’s now operates 58 stores across the U.S., with locations in Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia. Murfreesboro will be Buc-ee’s third location in Tennessee.
“Murfreesboro has been a great partner to work with since we first visited. This community will be a welcome pit stop for folks traveling to and from Nashville, Atlanta and the Gulf Coast,” said Stan Beard of Buc-ee’s.
Buc-ee’s Murfreesboro will create more than 250 jobs, offering starting pay well above minimum wage, full benefits, a 6% 401(k) match and three weeks of paid vacation.
Rapid Growth
As Buc-ee’s looks to grow its footprint in Tennessee, it is simultaneously planning an expansion in Louisiana. In late October, the retailer announced that it will break ground on its newest travel center in Lafayette, La., on Monday, Nov. 9.
Attendees of the Buc-ee’s Lafayette groundbreaking ceremony will include Mayor Monique Boulet, Parish and City Council Members Boudreaux, Broussard, Guilbeau, Hebert, Hooks, Naguin, Tabor, Richard, Rubin and Stansbury; State Legislators Boudreaux (Gerald), Myers, Boudreaux (Doyle), Carlson, Chassion, and Hebert; DOTD Assistant Secretary Eric Dauphine; and LEDA’s Board of Commissioners.
Since beginning its multi-state expansion in 2019, Buc-ee’s has opened travel centers in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Virginia and Colorado.
“This I-10 Louisiana location is finally happening, and we could not be happier to be here in Lafayette,” said Beard at the time. “From Texas to Florida, Buc-ee’s is the perfect place to stop for clean restrooms and great BBQ, over and over again.”
