RaceTrac, with 615 stores in 13 states, is growing its footprint, expanding its menu and investing in its community.
RaceTrac is opening its newest travel center in Cumming, Ga., located off GA 400 and Settingdown Road. The chain’s professional driver network has now been expanded to 131 locations.
This is the newest location to open in a growth strategy that is open to not just convenience stores, but also quick-service restaurants. In late 2025, the chain acquired 445 company and franchise-owned Potbelly shops.
It’s continuing to integrate the restaurant into its broader enterprise this year.
“From an HR perspective, integration is about aligning culture, leadership expectations, talent processes and employee experience while respecting the strengths that make each brand successful,” said Caroline Grubbs, executive director, people & culture, for the chain.
As RaceTrac continues to grow its footprint, it’s bringing an expanded convenience store selection, specialized fryer food, seating areas and more to its new stores.
Focus on Food
In fact, RaceTrac is growing its foodservice operations, as well. Starting in August, the Italian Sub and Traditional Pepperoni Pizza are making their way to the chain’s permanent menu. RaceTrac offers baked in-house pizza as a slice and a whole pie from lunchtime to late night. Other pizza options include classic Pepperoni, Cheese, and Sausage and Pepperoni. Popping up throughout the year, customers can find options such as Buffalo Chicken, Sausage and Gravy, and Cheeseburger.
Health-focused options include Ready Pac salads, sandwiches, charcuterie trays, fruits and yogurt.
Seasonal offerings have included a Brunch Burger and a Hot Honey Chicken and Waffle Breakfast Sandwich.
“We wanted to build off the success of both our waffle breakfast sandwich and our new and improved chicken filet to create a new flavor combination for guests seeking a bolder breakfast,” said Nick McCormick, corporate executive chef at RaceTrac, in a press release. “Based on guest feedback, we developed this exciting menu item combining trending flavors and beloved elements from our menu. We believe the resulting Hot Honey Chicken & Waffle is something that guests can look forward to as a part of their morning routines.”
The chain also offers a full-service Swirl World Frozen Yogurt bar.
This summer, RaceTrac has been serving menu items including the Nashville Hot Chicken Croissant, Banana Walnut Muffin, West Coast Club, Cheesy Burger Tornado, Street Corn Bites and the Peanut Butter Crispy Rice Treat. New yogurt flavors are Jamba Mango Sorbet and Jamba Coconut Milk Frozen Yogurt.
“When we saw how popular our collaboration with Jamba was last year, we knew we had to do it again with a fresh line up,” said Jeremy Behles, VP of merchandising at RaceTrac, in a press release. “RaceTrac’s commitment to innovation and unique offerings is reflected in partnerships like this one. We’re always looking for new ways to bring the latest and greatest flavors to our guests.”
Community Involvement
RaceTrac is also showing its appreciation of its communities by giving back. This week, teachers could enter a special giveaway for a chance to win an Owala water bottle.
On June 11, RaceTrac team members attended the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) Southeast Youth of the Year Celebration.
“Supporting the Youth of the Year program is important for RaceTrac because it aligns with our commitment to fueling the communities we serve. We don’t just operate stores; we operate in neighborhoods filled with young people who deserve every opportunity to thrive,” said Jamie Miller, VP of marketing for the chain, in a press release. “These honorees represent resilience, character and ambition. When we support them, we’re investing in the next generation of innovators, community builders and changemakers who will define the future of our communities.”
Miller served as one of this year’s Youth of the Year program judges.
RaceTrac and its guests have also raised over $4.6 million for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research through its Run for Research 5k and other in-store giving opportunities. In another community initiative, RaceTrac raised over $1.7 million in support of Camp Sunshine through event sponsorship and in-store opportunities. The camp’s mission is to enrich the lives of children living with cancer and their families through year-round recreational, educational and support programs.
