QuikTrip (QT) has announced the opening of its newest location in the Denver, Colo., metro area and its fourth in Aurora. Located at 14305 E. Alameda Ave., the site opened to the public on July 2.
QT opened its first Colorado location in Firestone in 2022, and the Aurora opening comes as the company continues to grow its presence across the region. The chain currently has an additional 14 Denver metro area stores under construction.
The new Aurora site, according to a statement from the company, features its QT Kitchens concept, which offers a wide range of made-to-order food options, expanded beverage selections and “an operating model designed to prioritize speed and consistency across company-owned stores.”
“QuikTrip’s approach is fundamentally changing the customer experience for convenience stores in Colorado by combining high-quality food and beverage options with a consistent service model, while also maintaining a strong commitment to the communities where we operate,” said Aisha Jefferson, QuikTrip Corporate Communications Manager. “We appreciate the business-friendly climate in Aurora with forward-thinking leaders and a Chamber of Commerce encouraging investment across their city.”
To commemorate the opening, QT announced a $300,000 donation to the Aurora Police Department and a $100,000 grant to The Family Tree, a local nonprofit that focuses on preventing and addressing child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness.
Since its founding in 1958, the company has donated 5% of annual net profits to charitable organizations, with a focus on supporting public safety and at-risk youth.
Strategic Growth
As QT continues to build out its network of food-focused convenience stores, it is also expanding its travel center format. Most recently in May, the chain opened a brand-new site in Minooka, Ill., located along Interstate 80 at Exit 122.
The travel center also features the chain’s signature QT Kitchens concept, plus an expanded coffee selection featuring 12 choices on tap, including hot and iced lattes.
“Cities and towns across Chicagoland and the state of Illinois have continued to embrace QT as more than a convenience store, and we are excited to join the Minooka community,” said Jefferson in May. “Our travel center model will offer a clean and friendly stop for the many travelers driving on I-80 as well as provide quality jobs, efficient service and reliable support for local residents.”
This marked QuikTrip’s 20th location in Illinois, with stores in Bridgeview and South Holland under construction and scheduled to open in the coming months.
Since its founding in 1958, QT has grown into an $11 billion company and has expanded its footprint to more than 1,200 stores across 22 states.
