Waterway Gas & Wash Co. (Chesterfield, MO) has added Michelle Sausen as its director of merchandising. Before joining Waterway Gas &Wash, Sausen served McLane Grocery Distribution as vice president of sales for the company’s Western and Minnesota divisions.

Keith Morrow, chief technology officer for 7-Eleven Inc. (Dallas,TX) and the company itself have been named among CIO 100 Award winners by CIO magazine. The 2005 CIO 100 Awards recognize organizations willing to “embrace significant risk for the sake of great reward.” In 2003, 7-Eleven was honored with a CIO 100 Award for its resourceful IT management and practices, and last year Morrow and the company were recognized with a CIO 100 Award for their operational and strategic excellence in information technology. Morrow is part of the “Bold 100,” along with CIOs from such companies as Circuit City, Staples and UPS,praised for innovation in the use of information technology to increase their organizations’ ability to compete with new products and services, heighten customer satisfaction and continuously adapt processes to foster innovation.

The Florida Retail Federation has honored Scaff’s Inc./S&S Food Stores(Lake City, FL) and its president, Lester Scaff, with the 2005 Retailer of the Year Award for Leadership. The criteria for the award consist of customer service, helping the communities they serve to grow and prosper, and giving back to their communities. Lester and Anne Scaff’s leadership has helped S&S grow to nearly 50 stores.

Mike Buker, who has 18 years of experience in the petroleum marketing industry, has joined Energy Recruiters Inc. (ERI) as an executive recruiting consultant. His retail management experience began in the drugstore industry with Drug Fair of Virginia. His convenience retailing experience began with Shore Stop in 1986, and he spent the next 12 years learning retail operations.In the 1990s he moved to 7-Eleven and was later offered a consulting position with Cenex, which he served for several years. Most recently he served a convenience retailer in the Midwest as director of operations.

Kable Distribution Services Inc. has promoted two of its internal account executives, Bill Horan and Andy Lieb, to directors of business development. In their new positions, Horan and Lieb will assist Kable’s executive management team in both seeking new business opportunities and expanding current sales.

Digital video signage company AdSpace Networks Inc. has promoted Marc Galiano to director of national accounts and has hired Miriam Ananiaas a local sales manager. In his three years with AdSpace as a sales manager, Galiano has led the company’s development of new accounts. Anania is a veteran of News America Marketing, a division of News Corp., where she worked with many accounts including Colgate-Palmolive and Novartis Consumer Health. In her new position she will represent AdSpace in the New York market.

Payment management software pioneer ISD Corp. has appointed Kevin Potrzeba its vice president of sales. Potrzeba brings to ISD more than 20 years of software sales management experience, most recently serving Interface Software as vice president of worldwide sales.

Merchandising display/fixture manufacturer Columbus Show Case has made several changes to its sales management team. Bill Rice becomes national sales manager of the company’s food service division, with responsibility over North American sales and distribution channels for the company’s new foodservice division. The company has also named John Frownfelter its purchasing manager, responsible for the overall purchasing functions of the company and also for cost reduction initiatives, streamlining procedures and project outsourcing.

Core-Mark Holding Co. Inc., one of the largest North American distributors to the convenience retailing industry, has elected two new members to its board of directors: L. William Krause and Stuart W. Booth. Krause is a board member of Sybase, TriZetto Group, Brocade Communications Systems, and Packeteer, as well as two privately held companies. Booth currently serves CentralGarden & Pet Co as executive vice president and chief financial officer/secretary.

The Hershey Co. has added Alfred F. Kelly Jr., group president of the American Express Co., to its board of directors. Prior to joining AmericanExpress, Kelly was head of information systems at the White House and also held management positions in strategic and financial planning at PepsiCo.
