Schnuck Markets Inc. and its Schnucks Express fuel center is stretching out to the Memphis area by acquiring two convenience stores formerly operated as Fill ‘n Stations.
The sales of stores were finalized May 14. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The move comes as part of the company’s strategic expansion.
“The Schnucks Express fuel centers will enable us to enhance our convenience offerings and provide additional value to our customers on both the fuel and grocery sides,” Mid-South division manager John O’Donnell in a statement told the Memphis Business Journal. “These stations will help to round out our overall one-stop shopping experience for customers.”
St. Louis-based Schnuck Markets entered the Memphis market in 2002 by acquiring 12 Seesel’s stores and five convenience and fuel stores from Albertson’s Inc, according to the newspaper. In 2004, the company built new stores in Collierville and in Cordova, and replaced a store in Germantown.
