The American Wholesale Marketers Association (AWMA), National Confectioners Association (NCA)and National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) plan to map out an in-depth study on ways retailers can increase sales and profit through confection offerings.
The three trade associations met last week to discuss the study, which will be researched by industry veteran Kit Dietz, of Dietz Consulting LLC.
“I am delighted that all three associations have joined together to produce a study of this magnitude, which has the ultimate objective of helping to increase candy and gum sales in the convenience store channel,” AWMA President and CEO Scott Ramminger said. “We all stand to benefit from the product of this work.”
The study will be previewed at the AWMA Summit and Business Exchange in Lake Las Vegas next September and completed in time for the NACS Show at McCormick Place in Chicago in October.
