Microsoft’s OEM Embedded Sales Division named Gilbarco Veeder-Root the winner of its Partner Excellence Award for Microsoft’s specialized service products at the Tech-Ed Developer Conference on June 4.
The award recognizes the technical excellence of Gilbarco’s application of the Microsoft platform in its fully integrated Passport POS system. It uses Windows Server for Embedded Systems that work seamlessly with devices running on Windows XP Embedded and Windows XP Professional for Embedded Systems.
“The Windows Embedded Partner Excellence Awards recognize the invaluable contribution partners make to our business through outstanding customer service and innovative uses of Windows Embedded technologies,” said Ilya Bukshteyn, director of marketing for the Windows Embedded Business at Microsoft.
“This recognition of our technical leadership from Microsoft comes just as we commissioned our 3000th Passport point of sale system at a Signal Foods Store in Mansfield, Mo.,” said Greg Davis, Gilbarco’s marketing manager for POS systems. “These two milestones in the same week demonstrate Gilbarco’s outstanding technical execution combined with success in the market. We are very proud of both Microsoft’s and our customers’ response to Passport.”
The Passport system provides an intuitive touch-screen interface that minimizes training time, errors and shrinkage and provides seamless connectivity and standardization, powerful business information and security features. It offers sophisticated business growth tools and easy expandability, and is approved on all major networks to benefit multi-branded retailers.
