McLane Grocery, a division of McLane Company Inc.’s New Jersey division has received Food Logistics‘ Golden Pallet award for foodservice distribution in the convenience store wholesaler category, Reuters reported.
The annual Golden Pallet Awards, sponsored by Food Logistics magazine, are the first industry awards to recognize excellence in warehousing. The award for foodservice distribution will be featured in the October issue of the publication.
McLane has 20 grocery distribution centers across the U.S., and the New Jersey location is entirely dedicated to Wawa. McLane and Wawa teamed up in 2004, and together they have built a reliable and efficient operations processes. The 220,000-square-foot facility is located in Carneys Point at the southern end of New Jersey, strategically located within easy reach of the majority of Wawa’s stores and suppliers. Today, Wawa operates more than 560 stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.
The McLane distribution center handles a broad line of products for Wawa that range from motor oil and health and beauty aids to fresh fruit cups, produce, luncheon meats and a host of frozen products.
