Kum & Go L.C., which operates more than 400 convenience stores in 11 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming) has opened a new store in Idaho Springs, Colo.

The 3,400-square-foot store took only 102 days to construct and is located at Miner & 13th Avenue in Idaho Springs.

The general public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting and grand opening at the new Kum & Go today, Friday, Dec. 4, at 1 p.m. City and school officials will be in attendance and Kum & Go will present Carlson Elementary School with a $2,000 donation for new technology to be used by students and faculty. Kum & Go also will offer free Java Ridge coffee and cappuccino from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

“Kum & Go stands committed to expanding our presence in Colorado, and to providing the best customer service for everyone who visits us,” said Kyle Krause, president and CEO of Kum & Go. “The new store in Idaho Springs will give residents the opportunity to get to know our outstanding associates, who go all out for our customers. Kum & Go looks forward to building new relationships with businesses and patrons within the community.”

The new store features twelve conventional fueling stations, offering unleaded, unleaded plus, premium and diesel fuels. In addition to offering quality gasoline, Kum & Go stores feature a wide selection of food and beverage products, including Java Ridge Premium Coffee, Go Fresh Market Sandwiches and Nuclear Energy Drinks. The Iowa-based company also offers potato chips, bottled water, cookies and candy under the well-known Hiland brand name in its stores.

Customers can expect friendly and helpful associates, a well-kept store and reasonable prices. “We want Kum & Go to become Idaho Springs’s store of choice for coffee or pop in the morning, gas after work and all the stops in between,” Krause said.

As part of Kum & Go’s commitment to developing environmentally-friendly building and operating practices, the new Idaho Springs store integrates heavily insulated glass, LED cooler door lights and energy-efficient coolers into its energy-efficient design.
