Kroger Expands Relationship with Cardtronics

Kroger Co., the nation’s largest traditional grocery and convenience store retailer, has expanded its ATM management services agreement with Cardtronics Inc., the country’s largest retail ATM owner

Building on a 2010 agreement with Kroger, Cardtronics has added 350 ATMs to both its retail ATM footprint and Kroger relationship, with such additions occurring in Ralphs, Food 4 Less and Foods Co. grocery stores in California and Nevada, as well as Tom Thumb convenience stores in Florida and Alabama. Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Foods Co. and Tom Thumb are all local banner names operated by Kroger Co.

As the largest single provider of ATM services to the Kroger family of stores, Cardtronics now manages ATMs in more than 1,150 Kroger-owned grocery and convenience stores, with that total spread across 32 states and 13 of Kroger Co.’s local banner names. (A complete rundown of store names is listed below.)

“Within a year of establishing an ATM services relationship with Cardtronics, Kroger has elected to extend our ATM management services across a wider cross-section of its family of well-known grocery and convenience store chains,” said Rick Updyke, president, U.S. Business Group, Cardtronics. “With Cardtronics’ size, scale and coast-to-coast service coverage, we’ve made it logistically and financially prudent for Kroger to consolidate multiple ATM service provider relationships with us.”

The stores covered include:
* Kwik Shop
* Tom Thumb
* Loaf ‘N Jug
* Kroger
* JayC Food Stores
* Dillons
* Food 4 Less
* Foods Co.
* Fred Meyer
* Quik Stop
* Ralphs
* Smith’s
