Funds to benefit 12 children’s hospitals in three states.
Stripes Convenience Stores, with help from customers and employees, has raised $772,486 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals during its fundraising campaign April 2-29.
The campaign ran in all 543 Stripes locations across Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The record-breaking campaign raised an average of $1,422 per location.
Stripes employees asked customers to purchase a $1 Miracle Balloon icon and collected spare change to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The icons were attached to coupons, providing customers an additional incentive to make the $1 purchase. The $772,486 total was a 24% increase over the 2011 total of $618,000. Overall, Stripes has raised more than $2.8 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
“Another record-breaking year for Stripes and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” said Steve DeSutter, president and CEO of Stripes Convenience Stores. “Together with the support of our customers and our Stripes team members’ efforts we surpassed our highest expectations. The grand total of this campaign will impact 12 different pediatric hospitals in our Stripes communities who will be able to offer more than hope and healing for many children. They are the true Miracle Makers.”
Because all donations made locally to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals stay local, funds raised by Stripes will benefit 12 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals near Stripes locations. Benefiting hospitals use funds to purchase life-saving equipment, invest in research and training or cover medical costs of uninsured or underinsured pediatric patients.
Stripes has been a partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1997, raising funds for children’s hospitals through a variety of campaigns.
