QuickChek customers help raise over $100,000 to support post-9-11 service members and their families.
Through an in-store donation program and a charity golf outing, with the help of generous customers, QuickChek was able to donate $132,000 to support post-9/11 service members and their families.
During the past six weeks, QuickChek customers were able to purchase $1 dog tag-shaped magnets to benefit Hope for the Warriors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing quality of life for service members and their families who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.
In all, customers purchased 92,000 dog tags throughout the company’s 140 locations.
Additional funds were raised through a recent golf outing at the Hillsborough Golf & Country Club in Hillsborough, N.J., where more than 100 golfers participated.
Wednesday morning, QuickChek employees presented Jessica McKinney of Hope for the Warriors with a $132,000 check at their Netcong, N.J. store.
The Netcong, N.J. store was chosen because it sold the most dog tags during the promotion, and all funds will help veterans local to the area.
“We’re pleased to honor and support our service members and their families who give so much of themselves,” QuickChek CEO Dean Durling said. “As a good neighbor, we believe in helping those in need by giving back where we can and lending our support.”
QuickChek has also teamed with Muscle Milk to raise additional funds for Hope for the Warriors through an in-store promotional sale of specialty protein nutrition bottles.
