Burger King has introduced a new permanent menu item that is expected to present a challenge to QSRs.
Convenience store roller grills are in for some real competition as QSR Burger King has launched new Flame Grilled Hot Dogs.
A new report from StreetInsider has revealed that Burger King has expanded the company’s signature flame-grilling technique to add hot dogs to the company menu. Beginning Feb. 23, participating restaurants will offer 100% beef hot dogs, flame-grilled on the same grill where the famous Burger King sandwiches are made. The hot dogs will be served in the restaurant and drive-through every day, throughout the year.
Burger King has announced that its restaurants will offer both the Classic Grilled Dog and the Chili Cheese Grilled Dog. The hot dogs can be purchased as individual items or as combo meals. The Classic Grilled Dog is includes a 100% beef hot dog, topped with ketchup, mustard, chopped onions and relish and served on a baked bun, while the Chili Cheese Grilled Dog features the same beef hot dog topped with warm chili, shredded cheddar cheese, also served on baked bun.
The Classic Grilled Dog will sell for $1.99, or as a combo meal for $4.49. The Chili Cheese Dog will sell for $2.29, or as a combo meal for $4.79. The combo meals include a small fountain drink and fries. Prices and participation may vary.
